Bloomington is set to become the area hub for medical marijuana distribution with the city council’s approval of a conditional-use permit and distribution facility license for a proposed dispensary.
The council’s unanimous approval of the proposal during its May 2 meeting opens the door for Minnesota Medical Solutions, also known as MinnMed, to open its doors at a Bloomington shopping center near the intersection of Interstate 494 and Highway 100. The business is aiming to open its dispensary by July 1.
The business will occupy the central portion of a retail center at 5200 W. 84th St., according to City Planner Nick Johnson.
